Jack Smith movie reviews: Date 12-18-2000
I had an opportunity to see a different movie this weekend. Somethin’ that’s been out for a week or two and I kinda thought, when I saw that it was coming out, that it probably had interesting vibes to it. Usually [if you] you look at children stories and movies you can almost start thinking that there’s gonna be some major truths and maxims of laws in there. They’re gonna tell children, supposedly more truth than they tell adults. Well, I was kind of excited to see if this particular movie was going ta’ live up to the expectation that I had proposed it might have. And I went to see “Dungeons and Dragons” which is after the uh computer game, that has been around for a long time. And it was amazing to me that the background story… Now I haven’t played Dungeons and Dragons on computer, I don’t know what it’s programmed to be about. But, if it’s anything like the movie they are absolutely telling ya everything that’s going on. In the movie, “Dungeons and Dragons”, the young princess, who is a quite young lady, has decided, as empresses of her kingdom, that she is going to open up uniform rights to all members of the kingdom. Which includes the privileged class, which are called the “Menges” in addition to the commoners. But she has a counsel to deal with, just like a Congress, and it turns out that one of the nastier guys in the movie is one of the leaders of one of the sections of this Congress, equivalent to a senator. And he’s put the whole Congress or the whole counsel on notice that the young princess, uh the young queen empress can not be trusted because she’s too young, too idealistic and too naive. And she is going to quote “change all the laws of the kingdom.” Doing away with everything that the kingdom is used to. And that will destroy the kingdom because her naiveté of basically trying to give uniform rights to every one. It turns out, that two of [the] young heroes in the movie are commoners, who are also thieves by occupation. And they have decided that it would be neat to kind of steal the magic “quote, unquote” coming out of the [the] castle of the temple in which the Government rules, where they have magicians, in this building, that through their quote “magic” unquote control and rule. The object of the game, that’s going in the movie and the movie’s motto is, something like, uh “The game is only beginning” or something to that extent or “More than just a game” uh. The object is that the heroes must find a scepter. It’s not called a scepter there, the queen’s got her scepter and the counsel has put out a order that she’s got 72 hours to turn her scepter in. Which is the authority and the power in the seventy-two hours, or three days was kinda interesting that they made that request, and demand upon the Queen. Who had absolutely no interest in complying with the counsel, not because she wanted to violate the law, but because she wanted to uphold the law. Because the scepter was given to her in behalf of the people and not in behalf of the counsel. And the counsel couldn’t give her any good lawful, or legal, reason as to why she oughta give up the scepter, which in essence would have given up her authority or power to rule. Um, the so-called scepter or artifice that they were looking for, was a device, which if it went into the hands of a person or the Queen. Would allow them to control the red dragons. And if they could control the red dragons, the princess or the Queen could rule without interference and there would be peace on the land. So first of all, the concept that they needed a device or an artifice to control the red dragons struck me because, it’s of course “the reds” the communists Esau, Edam that are out to steal the rights and the inheritances of the lawful people anyway. So, there is so much in the story of Dungeons and Dragons again, that Hollywood is just literally telling you what the battle is that’s going on in the background, in current times, for the liberties of the people. Uh once again that is a movie that is not well attended uh, first of all because of its link to the computer game. Which has not had exactly decent reviews by corporate Christian churches on that game. Ah, would probably leave no one to go to the movie except maybe the teenagers that are involved in playing the game. Uh but believe me there’s a lot of truth coming out in that. Yea Caleb
[Caleb]-Since you‘ve been doing your movie review[s] I’ve been paying real close attention [to the] to the movies [that] that are out there and every movie that you see. I just watched “Patriot” last night and that’s just the last one that comes to my mind. But all the movies that I find that’s very interesting in it is that [ev] in every single one, somewhere, they’re saying, they’re acknowledging the fact that God is the supreme being. That one “Patriot” that was yesterday. The guy uh um Mel Gibs er? Mel Gibson, yea uh, he said that he was afraid that his sins were going to finally catch up with him. And there’s, anyways through all of the movies, [that] that God is the one and only. Seems like whenever they get into a jam who do they call for? They know who the real creator is (other unintelligible) No, they don’t specify, [you’re] you’re right. But you look at the context of it and I believe that Hollywood also realizes the fact that there is, there’s not a government god there’s a supreme God out there.
