The Grinch

Has anybody seen the movie “The Grinch”, yet? Come on all you kids, fess up. [There’s] There’s been over a hundred and seventy million dollars worth of income for that movie somebody in this room had to go see “The Grinch” [uh] (pardon, Well good, that’s a good reason not to go.) See they teach kids, they don’t teach adults. Cause kids don’t have the capacity to learn. If you want to learn something, go to a kid’s book, they’ll teach ya. They won’t teach adults, you’re too far gone. So in the movie “The Grinch”, It’s the little girl, the little six or seven year old girl, which had to teach the whole town. See, “The Grinch” is the story of the foreign-looking, ugly, did-not-fit-in-with-the-rest-of-the-people monster that lived on the mountain outside of the village. The mountain is the high places; the mountain represents the government. So the ugly, foreign, non-accepted Grinch lived on the mountain. And every year around Christmas time, the village had this big deal about celebrating Christmas. And in this particular time it was an extra, extra, extra important Christmas celebration, i.e. it’s the time right now in America where we’re coming out of the bankruptcy. So it’s an extra, extra, extra important time. And everybody wanted everything to go right. And they didn’t want the Grinch to “screw it up”. So everybody left the Grinch alone i.e. we’ll just let government alone so they won’t “screw it up”. We’ll do our thing and let them live up on the mountain, those foreign, ugly, foreign bastards under the democracy.

And so the people got ready for Christmas. And they were all going around, they were all getting their presents, and they were all doing everything in preparing for Christmas. There was just one slight glitch. Every year, for the Christmas ceremony, there was going to be a nomination of one of the citizens, for a special position of honor with respect to the Christmas party. And the way the rules went was, if no one was nominated, the Mayor of the village automatically got the high position and the award. Naturally, the politicians gonna put himself in a position of being rewarded. However, if someone else was nominated and they failed to appear, then by default it went to the politician anyway, the Mayor of the village. And so most of the time, the Mayor of the village just traditionally got the nomination as the best citizen for the year. He was gonna do the honors and he was going to get [the resp] the prize and everybody was happy. Nobody cared anyway as long as everybody let him alone and they had their Christmas. This year the little girl decided she was going to nominate The Grinch. She decided to nominate The Grinch because The Grinch had secretly snuck into town, and he was up to a lot of mischief. But, in spite of the mischief that he was up to, he rescued the little girl from a bad situation. And when he rescued the little girl he tried to make it appear as though he wasn’t being nice to the little girl he just rescued her, but don’t think anything of it. But the little girl saw in The Grinch that there might be some social redeeming value, so she nominated him.

Everybody in town was extremely upset that she even mentioned the name of The Grinch. Because if The Grinch got word of this he’d come down and steal all the towns presents and make life unbearable in this very, very, very, very special year. So when she nominated The Grinch, in public, even her own parents were upset that she mentioned it. And then, the Mayor tried to cover it over by going to the rules and regulations of the contest. And he attempted to verbally explain to the little girl under the rules and regulations that The Grinch was not in a position of being qualified to be nominated. But, the little girl had read the book, and she not only explained to the Mayor that, not only was he qualified but that he was the most qualified candidate based on the requirements, in the book, for nomination. Because one of the requirements was, that there must be a need, someone outside the community that needed to be brought in. And that applied to The Grinch more than it applied to anyone else. The mayor said, “No, no, no it violates this rule and that rule.” And she said, “Excuse me, where are those rules?” And he said, “Well, it’s in the contest rules.” And she said, “I read em all, it’s not in there. You’re lying!” And the Mayor tried to cover it up, and he blustered and finally, went around and said, “Well OK, it doesn’t make any difference anyway, The Grinch isn’t going to show up for the award so he won’t get it anyway. Because even if you invite him he won’t come.” And the little girl says, “Well, I’m going to invite him, we’ll see about that.”

The Grinch did get invited, The Grinch did come, and The Grinch looked like he was going to get the award. But the Mayor had an ulterior purpose going on in the background, was doing everything he could to get The Grinch mad so that the Grinch wouldn’t be qualified. And pretty soon The Grinch take off on a tangent, and destroyed the Christmas in the village, at the party, and now everybody looked at the little girl and said, “We told you so, it’s all your fault.” But the Grinch, because he was so mean, didn’t get the award. And he left the village, now the whole village is in an uproar. And The Grinch decided now to get even and he came back on Christmas eve and stole all the presents out of all homes the in the village. And when they all woke up the next morning. Everybody was upset because everybody’s special Christmas was destroyed. And it was all the fault of The Grinch and this little girl that messed with this procedure. They had a big town meeting, and the little girl stood up to everybody by herself, and said, “The Grinch did not destroy Christmas.” She said, “Nobody can destroy Christmas, because Christmas is what’s in your heart and nobody can destroy what’s in your heart. The Grinch took the presents, but if that’s all Christmas is, then you people don’t understand Christmas either.” So it took the little girl to show them that they had been attacking a different entity, blaming everything on the foreigner, that lived on the mountain, outside of town. And in reality, she finally got the people, one by one, to start thinking that yea; “The Grinch can’t destroy Christmas because Christmas is a [a] condition of your heart. All he can do is take the presents. And if he wants to steal the presents, let him sit up on his mountain with the presents, it isn’t going to destroy our Christmas.” And finally, her parents sided with her, then the village sided with her. And everybody pretty soon was against the Mayor who’s still trying to blame the Grinch on the hill. And pretty soon the Mayor had to go along with the people because there was no one on his side.

The Grinch, on the mountain, was listening to the village, in the valley, hoping that the village in the valley was gonna be crying and carrying on and yelling and screaming. And he heard all this dancing and music and good stuff coming on from the village. What ends up happening is; the little girl basically showed you and showed The Grinch that he didn’t have to fight the village and the village didn’t have to fight him. And what basically ends up happening is, The Grinch is accepted into the society again. And The Grinch saves Christmas and restores all the presents. Now, don’t you think this is a metaphor for Government and The People? Don’t you think the majority of the people have been fighting the evil Grinch government on the mountain? And what the little girl showed is, your remedy is not fighting the government on the mountain who’s doing everything wrong. It’s basically to invite the government back to start following the true meaning of The Law. And when that happens, and the people lead, the government follows. Rather than fighting the Grinch, on the mountain, “the government on the hill” wanting the government to change before The People have changed and follow The Law themselves. It’s a situation of what comes first?

Now I was reading the today’s version or the today’s edition of “The Spotlight.” And right on page one, I believe, or right inside. The “Spotlight” is really upset with the U.S. Postal Service. I don’t know if you’ve been in the Post Office in the last couple of days. But in the Post Offices’ all over the land, they’ve got a huge poster, advertising that The Grinch is stealing Christmas and you should go to the movie. And “The Spotlights” really upset that the U.S. Postal Service would be out there, supporting a private movie. And according to the movie reviewer, of the guy that wrote the article in “The Spotlight”; he has nothing good whatsoever to say about the movie “The Grinch, that stole Christmas.” In reality, I don’t think he got it. I don’t think he understood what the movie’s tellin you. Because, once again in the children fables, comes most of the true principles of what’s going on and what you need to understand to be able to prevail. The way you get your remedy is by acceptance and peace, not by protest, fighting and arguing. And the peace always comes with the correct application of The Law, not what you might think the law or the statutes are. Because what they say the law and the statutes are, is merely an offer into insanity to see if you’re gonna go there. And that’s basically what The Grinch was doing, The Grinch was coming down to get a reaction from the people in town. To see what they were going to do. And that’s basically what government does to us all the time. They come and institute some kind of activity to get a reaction to see what you’re gonna do. Like, the voting fiasco going on in Florida. What are you going to do? And the problem is, is that whatever they’re instigating against you is absolutely off point and backwards to what you need to be thinking about and what you need to be doin. Because if you fall into the trap of responding to the reaction, you’re not following The Law and you’re off on a tangent. So it is a very, very interesting movie. I know “the system” is pushing it. I know there’s an agenda behind it. But the basic principal that is behind it is extremely sound. So if you get an opportunity you may want to go check out The Grinch, that stole Christmas.

Proof of Life

There’s a couple other movies too, that are out, that are very, very good. There’s one gonna be coming out next weekend. [It was, uh] It was out in the theater last Saturday as a sneak preview, it’s called “Proof of Life.” And it has Russell Crowe in it. And it’s basically the story of professionals who work for a company. Whose job it is to go out and rescue individuals who’ve been kidnapped and held for ransom. Usually in third world countries, by bands of men that are doing the kidnapping as a racketeering move to raise revenues from the corporations, that have paid insurance companies to pay off the claims and to get the people back. And in this particular movie, Russell Crowe is one of the operatives working for a corporation. Who’s job it is to go out and attempt to use either military force or negotiations, if at all possible, to return the kidnapped and ransomed corporate execs or individuals for the least expense of the insurance companies. [He doesn’t,] He is not working for the insurance company, he works for a corporation the insurance companies’ hire to go out and minimize their costs. Now, what’s extremely interesting is the metaphor for the whole story is, is that this one gentleman has been kidnapped in South America. By what had started out to be allegedly patriots of this country, fighting for a just cause. And somewhere along the line what ended up happening is, all the principles in the just cause just went to blazes. And they found out that they could make a lot of money by using their para-military strength to kidnap foreign corporate execs and people. And get paid off by the corporations to hand the people back over again. So, we have the husband, of one of the principals in the movie, who’s been kidnapped and held for ransom. His wife or woman is very upset. The corporation that the guy worked for was bankrupt and put out of business partially to economize on costs and partially so they wouldn’t have to be financially responsible for recovering this one gentleman, along with some others. And when it turns out that there was no money left, in this corporation, to pay insurance claims or to have insurance coverage, all of a sudden nobody cared about going to get this woman’s husband. But Russell Crowe, who was a professional, working for a corporation paid big bucks to do this, had a private change of heart. And for some reason decided, out of the goodness of his heart, he would just help this woman and her husband without getting paid, and without working for the corporation. The metaphor is, is that people have been captured by a military force and they’re not at liberty to exercise their freedom. Is that another name for a democracy? And this process, was a process of extraction of this one particular individual from that quote, unquote para-militaty organization, which had him “locked up” at a loss of liberty, to bring him out. And bringing him out, needless to say, was not a commercial activity per say because Russell Crowe wasn’t being paid to do it. But nevertheless he was doing it. So “Proof of Life” is, once again, just a cute little metaphor for, “Do you want to get out of the Democracy and do you need to extract yourself? Or, don’t you even know you’re in there? What’s going on and [what’s] what’s happening?” I mean, every movie Hollywood’s doing is just reoccurring theme over and over and over again.

Artificial Intelligence

You will probably see advertisements coming out now, for the movie that Speilberg is directing, which is set for a summer release in the year 2001. The movie starts out, in it’s trailer, and it shows a little boy, six years old. And the trailer kinda says, “You might think that this is a young boy.” And the figure of the young man approaches you and the camera zooms in on a thumb and it zooms in on [a] a thumbprint and then it kinda like goes to an atomic level. And it says, “The only problem is, this boy is not a living person.” The name of the movie, that Speilberg is directing, is called “Artificial Intelligence”. Which is basically just another name for the “strawman”, if in fact he has any intelligence at all. So, once again they’re just throwing everything in your face to see what you’re going to pick up. What you’re going to get. And then what are you going to do with respect to it.
