Saving Silverman

There’s another movie, that’s a comedy, that’s gonna come out next weekend. [It was on a] It was on a sneak preview this weekend called “Saving Silverman”. “Saving” - redemption, “Silver” – man. What is silver? It’s the money of the land. It’s not saving Goldman, which would be money of the sea. Now Silverman is kind of a naive’ twenty year old who is the counter to the girl in “Head over Heals”. He’s always naive” and he’s never getting a serious relationship or a date with a girl. Until one day, his cronies and his buddies kind of put him up to pushing himself on this girl in this bar, who really wants nothing to do with him. Until all of a sudden, she kinda does a one hundred and eighty degree flip and all of a sudden, just is all over him suggesting him maybe we really oughta have that drink and have that relationship.

The girl’s name is Judy. But as she later says, “My name is really Judith.” Who is Judith? Judith, in a lot Judas. Judith in a lot of your uh, literature is the feminine counterpart of Satan. And Judith is a controlling freak who is not interested in our hero because she wants a normal relationship between her and the man who is going to be the government, or the controlling party in the relationship. Judith is going to be the controlling relationship. So the relationship between Judith and our hero Silverman is the admiralty maritime relationship, the feminine control of the masculine government. His two friends, that he pals around with in a band, decides that they understand who Judith really is and she is not out to give any benefits to our friend. And so they decide that they’re going to use whatever capacity and power they have, to break up Judith and their friend Silver-man to restore him back to his true relationship. And the way they do that, is they literally re-introduce him back to a girl that Silverman had dated in High School. Who had gone away from town and now she’s returning and she’s coming back but the relationship gets sticky because she’s decided to go in and become a nun.

So the party to which Silverman’s two buddies is trying to hook [her up] him up with, is really the girl who wants to dedicate herself to spiritual duties and enlightenment. So, you’ve got competition between Judith (Satan) and the woman who wants to be nun but will take the relationship of being the wife of Silverman if she can do it. So again, you’ve got a lot of these movies that are going around Hollywood that are really showing you the redemption process and they know exactly what’s going on, in terms of their symbolism.
